On the 2nd of July, 2024, a pivotal meeting took place at the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training, bringing together key stakeholders from Appro Formazione, Nooderpoort, MasterPeace, and Hope for a Better Future (H4BF). The session, presided over by Mme Prudence Forchap Esandem, Permanent Secretary to Minister Mr. Issa Tchiroma Bakary, marked a significant step forward in our mission to enhance vocational training in renewable energy across Cameroon.
Meeting Highlights
Mme Prudence Forchap Esandem warmly welcomed the attendees, setting a positive tone for the discussions. The primary focus of the meeting was to update the ministry on the Cameroon Renewed Project, explore the potential for expanding the training module to other centers, and discuss partnership opportunities.
Presentation of the Cameroon Renewed Project
Ngo Abdulai, Director of the Cameroon Renewed Project, delivered a comprehensive overview of the project’s objectives, goals, and activities. He emphasized the project’s dedication to training technicians and entrepreneurs in renewable energy and introduced the expertise and contributions of our European partners. The presentation also detailed the progress made so far, including achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. This sparked a productive discussion, addressing queries and concerns raised by the ministry.
Expanding the Training Module
One of the key topics discussed was the expansion of the renewable energy training module to other centers across the country. Our team highlighted the need to enhance vocational training in this crucial sector, aiming to reach a broader audience and have a more significant impact. Mme Prudence Forchap Esandem appreciated this initiative and directed us to collaborate further with the office in charge of Training Trainers and Curriculum Development.
Opportunities for Partnership
We explored potential partnership opportunities with the ministry, stressing the importance of aligning our project’s objectives with the ministry’s vocational training initiatives. The ministry’s director in charge of Training Trainers and Curriculum Development showed great enthusiasm for collaboration. He welcomed the project’s integration into their curriculum and discussed various ways this integration could be achieved.
